Sam Weaver, the president, CEO, and co-founder of Cool Energy, Inc. will be discussing the methods that have been used to analyze options and costs for a Boulder municipal utility.

Can Boulder provide a lower carbon and cleaner supply of electricity at costs and reliability that meet or beat the current fossil fuel dominated supply from Xcel?

Come learn about the methods used to model possible options and ask questions about assumptions that have been used. The City of Boulder expects to release its updated modeling results on February 21, 2013.

Background Info

Sam Weaver is President, CEO and a co-founder of Cool Energy, Inc., a power conversion equipment company located in Boulder, CO. Sam also is a Director of Proton Power, a company supplying biomass gasification equipment for producing renewable electricity, biofuels, biochar, and hydrogen.  Sam is a former member of the Board of the Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association, and is a member of the City of Boulder Planning Board and the Colorado Clean Energy Development Authority. Prior to his entrepenuerial and start-up business experience, Sam worked for ten years as a professional researcher in the electrical engineering department at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He is an active member of numerous energy and renewable energy industry trade groups, and has served his community as a volunteer fire chief and Boulder County advisory board member.  Sam holds a B.S. degree in engineering and applied science from the California Institute of Technology and is an inventor named on fifteen issued U.S. patents.
