Beyond Coal
Clean Energy Action is currently working with the Sierra Club and other environmental groups as a part of the "Beyond Coal Coalition.
" The aim of the group is to 'decarbonize' our electric supply by replacing carbon-intensive coal burning with clean renewable energy such as wind and solar power, which is so abundant in Colorado. We also strongly support reduction in electricity demand through energy efficiency, conservation, and "demand side management" by the utilities.
Beyond Coal works to retire or repurpose existing coal plants in Colorado, keep new plants from being built, and to ensure that existing coal plants make use of the best available technology to reduce their emissions.
